From Type 1 to Type 2...................

Thursday, June 18, 2009

Well yesterday I called my Doctor's office to get all my test results back from my checkup last week. My cholesterol was good, but my sugar level had gone up, sooooooo on that note my doctor decided to put me on medication now. I am starting today with Metformin 500 mg once a day for 5 days and then increase to twice a day. When I got off the phone with the news that now I am officially a Type 2 diabetic, I cried my eyes out! I thought I was monitoring my sugar level and watching what I eat, but sometimes even with that you will still be put on medication, because it is called HEREDITARY, which is something you can not get rid of. Hopefully I will get my sugar level down and keep it down and also lose more weight and who knows, I might be taken off of the meds. emoticon
