First Blog aka Hanging in there

Well, this is my first blog on this site. Actually, this is my first blog ever. emoticon I am so happy with my weight loss that I had to share! I can't believe I have made it this far and have actually lost 45 pounds!! I never thought I would be able to make it when I realized how much I had to loose. But now I can see that it is possible and it is really sinking in that I can do this! I can go all the way! I have lost from a size 24 pant being tight, down to a size 18 being loose! I havent worn a size 18 in years! emoticon

Last week I feel down my front steps and really hurt my ankle and the outside of my lower leg. We thought is was broken, as the pop it made when I fell could be heard on the other side of our 2 acre yard. I went to the emergency room and thank goodness it wasn't broken! I went to my regular Dr. the next day, and he said I had torn all three ligaments in my lower ankle and probably torn, or at least severely stretched the ligaments just above my ankle and pulled and injured the muscle all the way up the outside of my leg from my ankle to my knee.

I figured that this was the end of my weight loss for a long time. I was really worried that I would gain weight back because of this. But to my amazement, and due to being extremely careful with calories, I have managed not only to not gain, but to actually continue to loose. I am really surprised!

Anyway, just wanted to share my good mood this morning! emoticon

    emoticon I know you can do this, so just don't quit. YOU are worth it.

    I'm reading ARTHUR AGATSTON, M.D.'s "The South Beach Diet" and he talks about pre-diabetes and Insulin Resistance. The book is so helpful with information since he is a Cardiologist and writes from that point of view. He never started out to write a "diet book" but developed this diet for his heart patients. I suggest reading it. The recipes are just from famous chefs to show that you can eat delicious dishes and not have to have boring "diet" food. emoticon 2 emoticon

    So sorry to hear about your leg - I hope it heals soon - but great job continuing to lose with less exercise by watching your calories even more.

    This is my first blog as well. Congrats on your weigh loss success. This is my first time on this site. I learned about the site this morning through Good Morning America.

    Anyway, I'm looking to lose 30-45 pounds by the end of the year and I hope that this site will help me to do so.

    I am a good starter but I don't always finish things as I don't see immediate results. I'm hoping with the feedback from like people will give me the motivation I need.
