Another milestone...

Friday, May 15, 2009

Another child is graduating from college in the morning. I am so very proud. He decided to enter the military right after 9/11. He was on active duty for five years. He felt as if he had really put himself way behind by adding those five years, but he did what he thought was right. When he separated from the military, he immediately returned to school and, in his last semester took 21 hours while working and having a family and he still made the Dean's List (again). So, it has been nine years since he last walked - but - tomorrow he will walk again. Brad hopes to enter law school in the near future and, at long last, realize his dream.

I think there are lessons there for all of us -- doing the right thing, sticking to it, sacrifice, hard work, determination, and perseverance. I'm learning.

Finally got caught up on your blogs. Excellent tribute to your mom - really moved me.

Awesome son you've got, darlin' - I know you guys'll be bustin' with pride watching him walk. Thank him, for me and my family, for his military service. We sleep safely under the blanket of security that he and others like him have and do provide.

Thanks for the awesome comment on my blog. It really meant (and means) a lot.
