How many do we need?

Weeks ago, I was skimming a paper about some story written about the first lady and how she should help bring clothing factories back to the USA....the way it used to be.(by using her influence as first lady).
Have you ever wondered why department stores have clothes on sale every month? Or wondered where the heck those clothes even come from. Mostly I wonder, why the heck people think they even need to buy new clothes every month. Do people wear something once or twice and then throw it in the trash or what? Don't people do laundry every week and ever wear the clothes again? (and nooo, I ain't talking about my grand-daughter who can change clothes 1/2 a dozen times a day either....LOL)
Years ago, I had a neighbor...(well a lady that spent every Summer in my neighborhood) She worked in some big office type building in Boston and soon after she got married, she made a comment about how the other ladies in the office building were looking at her funny and she assumed it was because she had worn some outfit twice that week or something like that or couldn't afford new shoes for the Summer. I guess she needed a new outfit for everyday of the month.
Now yrs ago (after I moved outta the above mentioned neighborhood) while I was working as a nurse's aide, I had different scrub uniforms for every day of the darn month...I wore them sooo much that my kids and their dad started begging me to wear something else on a day off. Hey they were comfortable to wear whether I was at work or not. But the point of that was that if scrubs were all I was wearing then what the heck did I even bother to own other clothes for?
Hey there are some days now, I could wear my work uniform and/or my pj's all day.
I still have more shirts then I could wear in a week...hell some I ain't worn in months.
Guess it's time weed out the closet/dresser again. (and get ready for smaller clothes)
