Tired But Determined

Monday, April 20, 2009

Although I am still very tired , I want to lose some more weight and inches before I have to go in to the hospital and have a pacemaker put in.
I've heard that there will be exercises I will not be able to do after the surgery, so I want to try and tone my upper body and arms as much as possible before the procedure is done in May or June. Doesn't give me much time, but every little bit helps.
I will probably be in cardic rehab afterwards. My doctors appointment to discuss all of this is next Monday.
Watch out after I recoupe from all of this, because I am going to become the healthy person I want to be and get this body back in shape !

Hi, I'm sorry to hear you have to have a pacemaker, that may be down the road for me sometime. We have to get together for that coffee, I have my sister from Seattle here for a few days the end of this week but maybe late next week? I'll get in touch first of the week. I know many people with pacemakers and they are all doing great, you'll be ready to go after the rehab. emoticon

How about water exercise? It's low-impact, does a great job at toning. Just walking in water and moving your arms can help a lot. And stretches out of the water help tone too. If your doctor thinks it helpful, you could before surgery go to a physical therapist for specific exercises that will prepare you for surgery without overtasking any muscles.

I love how you are preparing for surgery, beign realistic about recovery...and taking care do do what is in your ability at both ends of the procedure!
