I'm really enjoying this new way of eating. I've found that a key to success is definitely planning and preparing. Its pretty tough when you find yourself with very few options. I spent a good deal of yesterday cooking ahead for this week.
I was really happy about Saturday as we were on the road most of the day and I ate well. We went to Bob Evans for breakfast and I had oatmeal. That wasn't hard as I don't care for Bob Evans food anyway. I do wish I had brought along some raisins... oh well. We went to the beach and I didn't eat any of the usual beach foods - I'll do us all a favor and not list them here. Again, this wasn't so hard. I knew that those things smelled good and would even taste good but I also knew what havoc they wreak on my body and my weight so.., I walked right past them ;)
Rob the Wonderful looked and looked and looked until we finally found a compromise place where he could eat what he wanted and I could have something good for me. So, being St. Pat's weekend, I had cabbage and potatoes - sans the corned beef. I enjoyed it and felt good about it. That's how its been working for me.
We have a REAL trip coming up. We'll see how we manage that... it'll be a challenge but I think I'm up for it.
