2 Week Pre Op Appointment March 12, 2009

Thursday, March 12, 2009

The Big day finally can. I spent 3 1/2 hours at the Dr.'s office learning the things I need to know about my surgery. They gave me a notebook with all the information in it. They went over everything and then I have the notebook to use as a review. So much to learn and prepare for emoticon I will be starting my pre op liquid protein drink two weeks before surgery, March 16, 2009.

Stopped on the way home from the Dr.'s and had my last meal of a Wendy's double cheese burger and the stopped at Dairy Queen for some ice cream. Will be going off of all caffeine monday. I have already cut way down on it. I might still have a pop or two before the 16th, but I hardly drink it compared to before I decided to have WLS.

Be determined to discover a new way of living. Don't be discouraged or distracted by what anyone else says about your journey or by what others may eat or drink. This is your personal commitment to your health and wellness. You take care of you, just remember it is a life commitment that is made moment by moment for the rest of your life.

You will be fine, you can do this. I am on my 3rd day of liquids. It is not as bad as one would think. You actually get pretty full by the shakes, soups, puddings, etc that I am allowed to have. I can even have 1 protein bar every other day.

Try Crystal Light or the Wal-Mart generic brand of Great Value (cheaper than Crystal Light) and tastes just as good. They have many flavors, my favorites are Strawberry, Grape and Apple. They even have many flavors of tea. Go ahead and give up the pop, you won't really miss it as much as you think you will.

I did the last supper thing too, but we had Chinese. I was going to do the ice cream thing also but chose not too. Just because I think I was feeling guilty enough about the Chinese.

Seriously Sharon, you can do this one sip at a time.

    Good Luck,

I hope your surgery goes well. 50% of people who have WLS gain all the weight back again after 2 years, so I do hope you will continue to be a SPARKER and make new habits for yourself.
Fantastic that you have released the 22#. That is wonderful. emoticon
