Training for a 5K

Monday, March 09, 2009

I started exercising about 8 months ago. I started with basic hand weights 3 days a week. Then added Jazzercise 3 days a week. Now I've decided that I want to try to run a 5K. I know I could walk it, but I would like to try and run it. Yesterday I started training for a 5K in April. Yesterday I ran a 20 minute mile, then walked for an hour after that. Not too impressive I know, but I'm hoping I get better with practice. My goal is to run at least 3 days a week in preparation for the Race on April 4th.

The one thing I have learned about running is as long as you keep pushing your body will respond and next thing you know you have accomplished your goal. Good luck with the 5K and let us know how it goes
