Training for a 5K

I started exercising about 8 months ago. I started with basic hand weights 3 days a week. Then added Jazzercise 3 days a week. Now I've decided that I want to try to run a 5K. I know I could walk it, but I would like to try and run it. Yesterday I started training for a 5K in April. Yesterday I ran a 20 minute mile, then walked for an hour after that. Not too impressive I know, but I'm hoping I get better with practice. My goal is to run at least 3 days a week in preparation for the Race on April 4th.
