I love Friday

Friday, March 06, 2009

The weekend has a lot of promise for me this week, a shower for DIL and our FIRST grandchild. Mimi Janice had a great time shopping for little dresses for Anna Ruth that should make her appearance in about 5 weeks. Since I only had a son, this buying for a granddaughter is going to be fun. I have a lot of practice since my older sister has 5 granddaughters, younger sister has 2, and First cousin- like a sister has three. I have bought a lot of frilly dresses over the years. The quilting may take second place to sewing for a while.
Speaking of quilting, we had our quilt guild meeting last night and the show and tell was wonderful. I don't know how the ladies and gentlemen (we have two) finish all those projects. I am very slow. I am using the flannel from the Charmed Swappers Swap for my Charity quilt this Lent. I found a great easy pattern, have even material for the borders and backing. During Spring Break I will cut and sew it up and then get it quilted.

Hope you weekend was wonderful! Take a photo of the quilt when you finish it. I would love to see it. I'm slow on my projects too. There never seems to be enough time in the day.

I have never done any quilting but my sister does a lot. I always thought I would try some day. Sounds like you are staying busy. Have a great weekend

Hun, you will love being a Gramma just like I do! My little Grandson who is 4 now, is my sunshine every day! They grow so fast! What fun you'll have spoiling your little sweetheart! When is she arriving?
