Weekend Blues

Sunday, March 01, 2009

I just started today with my adventure on Spark People's diet, but I have dieted before and the weekends are hard because my husband is naturally skinny and he is home all day and he eats, munches, snacks and wants pizza and chips for football in the fall and watches movies and sits. It is hard to get out and exercise when I have a lot of homework to do (which means I sit on my rear a lot) and he doesn't go with me for walks because he has a bad back. I am on my own (or at least I was until I found Sparkspeople. God Bless and Good Luck to us all.

Those weekends can be hard. I have my kids every other weekend and tend to eat somewhat worse when they are here. It's hard to please everyone. I have been lucky in that sometimes I can just let the snacks be there and not eat them, but sometimes I give in. The important part is to not beat yourself up too much about it. There's an article from one of the sparkcoaches about tough love for yourself, you might want to look it up. I would put the link on here, but I can't remember where I put the blog post or who it was from. It might help though.

Good luck in keeping with the exercise while your hubby can't. Maybe you could get him a few massages and they would help with his back pain? That might be an option.
