Progress..and a finally earned free day!!

So, I made it through a solid week of clean eating...YAY!!! I rewarded myself by having a cheat meal. Thats right, I said meal....not day!! I realize that the weekend is long, and while I might like to have 2 or 3 meals, I probably don't want to build them all into one day. Since today's destinations were better than they have been in a while, I decided it was fully worth it to dig in!! I won't post it here for those of you who are clean eating today, but it was good.

However, I'm most proud of what I did after that meal. I stopped. I noticed the sugar rush..how unnatural it felt.. and understood why I used to thrive on it. Continuing to eat like that would have only made me more dependent. I could not have handled a day of that..too hard to turn on and off. I also noticed that I wasnt as full because the foods I was eating just werent as nourishing. So, for the rest of the evening out I managed on decaf coffee without sweetener (yeah, just whatever milk or half and half they gave me), diet coke (better than a bar drink) and a sandwich (asked to substitute veggies for fries). I'm so happy I did my best. Getting farther from the perfectionism that gave me misery each day :)

I can't wait to see what tomorrow brings. No matter what happens, no being hard on me. Just eating clean as much as possible ;)
