Crohns cant stop me!

Tuesday, January 27, 2009

Last weekend I found myself at the hospital for the weekend due to my first major attack scince I was diagnosised in 2008. I was in alot of pain and unable to eat or have a bowl movement. I tried to handle my treatment my self but going to a liquide diet, but I guess I didnt do a good enough job. I stay over the weekend and got the IV treatment with fluids, steroids, and antibiotics and lots of pain meds. I was able to go home on Sunday. I am still having stomache pains but I feel alot better. Up till now I considered myself lucky to not have some of the severe symptoms others have been discribing on the Crohns cant stop me page. Unfortunatlly I find myself getting closer to that reality. How do people manage the pain if not taking pain meds? The Dr.s have started me on prednisone which is making me cheeks feel like they are on fire. I'm not happy. how can I manage this desiese if I dont know whats causing it in the first place....Help!

I'm sorry you're feeling so terrible - I have a cousin who has Crohn's or ssomething similar and she goes through the same things from time to time.

Since you were diagnosed recently, you're still learning about how it affects your body personally. All you can do is educate yourself about the disease and pay close attention to your diet so you'll know what's good and bad for you.

Good luck managing it, I know it will get better for you!
