My dad had a successfuly surgery last Wednesday - he had a triple bypass - supposed to be a quad, but one artery was behind the heart in a strange place, so the surgeon didn't feel that it would be worth the extra disruption to get to it - but this will be enough to supply the heart with sufficient oxygen. He is doing what he is supposed to for recovery and is coming along well. My mom is settling down and is coping much better with everything - so we are a much happier household!
Thank you so much for all the support, thoughts and prayers from so many of you - I know that it really helped.

Hey, Kris, sooo happy for the brighter future for your dad now. I'll bet your mom is almost like a new mom, since some of the stress is over! Now your family can rejoice and get (sort of, LOL!) back to normal. My only concern is that his doctor made that judgement call... and why would he do that after having everything ready- all the major steps to everything done, yet he decides to leave what he can easily get to... I don't know... when doctors 'pull that' without any consultation with possibly your mom, or a second physician's opinion... I mean, there ARE enough doctors IN a hospital, or surgeons 'around' any surgery 'wing' to get more than one opinion. I just hope and pray that THAT artery isn't going to HAVE to be dealt with in the future- which means, ANOTHER surgery for something that should've been fixed in the first place. Sorry. I just get 'fed up' with 'slip-shod' medical procedures. I am very VERY happy for you and your family, Kris.
    Take Care, Sweetie,
