I had my monthly weigh in at my Doctor's office this morning. As of today I have lost 72 pounds since I started on my trek to loose weight in September ('08).

So my son had run out of the weights that he had used to demonstrate to me the weight I had lost, last month he had used my wife's 50 pound anvile and added ten pounds to it for the demo.

I was walking through our yard this afternoon I saw the anvil and it made me think. Last month another Spark team member had posted a list of weight equivilants, looking around our yard I started to compare my loss with things around our property and then it hit me.

Living in Southern Arizona we have horses (4) as I was looking at the bales of hay and the bags of pellets it made me realize that I have lost 3/4's of a bale of hay or a bag of horse pellets, that is a lot of weight that my back and knees no longer have to support, oh yea and when I was carring the extra 72 pounds I would NOT have been walking around the yard.

Now I might be a little slow but it is becoming more clear to me that not only has carring a lot of extra weight put me at risk for lots of different medical problems I have just missed out on things around my own home.

I think that it would be good for all of us to take a walk around our homes and sorrounding areas and make our own compairisonns and with each new thing you noticed you have been walking around and that means we are doing a form of excercise that does involve that dreded treadmill.
