The Most Glorious Salad

Sunday, January 04, 2009

I had the most beautiful, delicious, glorious salad tonight. It was made by a friend at synagogue, and had more ingredients than I have ever experienced in one dish. How many types of lettuce and greens can there be? They must have all been in here-except for wimpy iceberg lettuce! Dark greens, lighter greens, reds and purples were not the main ingredients, however. The salad was richly punctuated with walnuts, plumped raisins, sunflower seeds, green and yellow peppers, cherry tomatoes, purple onions, yellow squash, cucumbers and grated carrots. It was grand the first serving, heavenly the second.

Thank you, Tammi!

that does sound wonderful. when I make a salad, I prefer to have more of everything else and less lettuce in it myself. I'm not a huge fan of lettuce, but I put some in because I know it's healthier that way
