What A Wonderful Little Boy

Wednesday, November 26, 2008

Brenden wanted to be a Marine Photographer. But last year he found out he had Leukemia. The Doctor had just told Brenden he had 2 weeks to live..While driving home, with his Mom, he saw a lot of homeless people in this one area. What was Brenden's wish? Not for himself, but for all the homeless people. He wished, because it is the season of giving, that the homeless does not go hungry.. When Brenden expressed his wish, Angels swooped down to Earth, and whispered in people's ears. "Lets get started" All of the sudden, people dropped what they were doing, and organized a Food Feed. They made over 200 sandwiches...Not only there, but as word spread, it became a National Food Feed. Brenden hung on long enough to see his wish come true. I'm sure Brenden is an Angel now...Watching over the people he loved, and the people he cared so much about. God Bless you Brenden . I will never forget you!

Thank you Haley for the wonderful blog. I am in tears. It's hard to type this. My DMIL years ago used to feed the hungry. She started a food pantry at our church and also took in used clothes. On Christmas morning of 1976 in the wee hours, her house burned down with both of her two daughters in it. Her son's girlfriend also parished. Everyone was so kind to her and our family after this great loss and I guess thru the years, caring for others was her way of saying thank you. She had a huge heart. I miss her so much. She passed away from colon cancer in '04. I had the honor of flying to FL and caring for her for 3 months after she was diagnosed until she passed away. An unforgettable lady and a bittersweet experience caring for her. Caring for her taught me so much.
Like you, I lost both my parents also. My dad died in '03 from emphysema, MIL in '04, and my mom passed in '05 from congestive heart failure. She mourned my dad so much. I think she died from a broken heart. At least now we know they are in a better place and are not in pain. We will see them again someday. In the meantime, we get to give all the love we can to our furry friends.
Thanks again for the beautiful story. Keepin' the faith...Dawn

This is such a special story and It is so true that He is an angel. He was while living and I cannot imagine any different now. He cared for others and what a blessing that is. Sometimes it takes little children full of compassion to break us from our mold and show us that our life is not about ourselves but about what and how much we can do for those around us.

    hugs to you
