ON A ROLL - WHAT'S WORKING FOR ME

Ahhh! It's working! 5.5 lbs lost in just 5 days! From 131 to 125.5.
I tried last month to restrict calories to about 850 a day and cut way down on healthy fats (all fats- just to lose fast of course) and that left me weak and grumpy. I dropped 4 lbs in 3 days multiple times but couldnt keep eating that little for more than 4 days at a time and also was sooo lame and a half mile behind my boyfriend on our uphill hikes. I usually run uphill and could hardly drag my legs behind me those days.
I also tried lots of fruit this summer (80carbs-10fat-10protein diet) but that left me craving heavier food and then I would binge on fats (nut butters etc) and the fruit sugar + the fat made me a bigger blimp.
So now I think I have it!
I start the morning with natural healthy fats like avocado or coconut plus something sweet like apple butter or RAW bio-active 20+ honey (do your research on honey! - that honey bear is total sugar and nothing else).
This combo makes me feel energized and nourished and pampered and I don't feel "gyped" and then do not obsess over food all day. I can eat like a "normal" person and not crave and be compulsive.
I post my food log if you want to see what I eat. Today I started with my recipe of Dark Chocolate Fudge Pudding (scroll down blog for recipe).
And other mornings I have had Artisana Coconut Butter + Apple Butter.
You could spread those on a Ryvita or Wasa Cracker but I dont eat grains anymore - they make me fat and slow and depressed.
Then Ill have totally yummy Yerba Mate tea with cinnamon or vanilla and a bit of cacao powder and stevia in it. So satisfying for my overlording sweet tooth.
Then the rest of the day I eat much lighter- lots of veg and green tea . For lunch I am mostly having a "green smoothie":
~5 cups fresh spinach
~3" fresh cut aloe flesh
~1 scoop Vega Meal Replacement (this stuff ROCKS! Created by a triathalete Brendan Brazier)
~1 scoop Vitamineral Green Superfood Powder
~Fresh ginger root
~Cinnamon and stevia
~1.25 cup pure water
~ *opt: sometimes 3 brazil nuts for the selenium
You can also do a green smoothie with fruit (mango, spinach, lime for instance) they are delicious, but I am not eating fruit right now anymore.

Then a dinner of my miso soup with seaweeds or a HUGE awesome salad of dandelion, romaine, and mixed greens with fresh basil and cilantro leaves and hemp seeds and a dressing of habenero and agave and lime and tomato and cumin blended.
OH! - Coffee screws me up and I lose less weight due to the chemistry of it in my blood system...and Im talking organic reg coffee, not even those garbage Starbucks combos!
Maintaning burning 700-950 calories 5 nights a week:
running 7 miles in 70 minutes = 670 calories
1 hour to 1 1/2 hour on elliptical = 950 calories
Then on one day a week I'll do a moderate pace uphill hike
(uphill=2.75 miles and back down = 2.75 miles)
What Im lacking in so far is the upper body with weights.
That will be my challenge to start on Monday.
