Sugar and Your Health

Friday, July 25, 2008

If we're overweight, it's a pretty good guess it's because we're addicted to sugar, in one of its many forms. I don't think I've run into anyone who became overweight because they were overeating their veggies!

And of course I'm not talking about just table sugar, cookies, ice cream or the usual suspects. I'm also talking about the foods that act like sugar in our bloodstream -- white bread, regular pasta, white rice and all kinds of highly-processed foods. They keep us addicted.

I came across a list here on SparkPeople somewhere with ways that sugar affects your body. I copied the list (from a book) but forgot where I originally found it.

At any rate, it's a scary list, so I also posted it on my regular blog:

So, do you see anything on those lists that might apply to you?

OK. I'm may be a slow learner as far as sugar goes, but I get it. I'm so done! It's time to get healthy!
