Well that's just a big pile of....

...peas! Is it diet rage? Nah, I didn't watch the diet part of things enough to be mad at it. It is, however, frustration. Once again, it's the end of the month, which is my measurement time. A whole month has gone by, (actually, a month and 6 days, I jumped the gun in May) and the measuring tape barely showed a blip. You know what they say "don't rely on the scales, you could be losing INCHES instead of pounds!" Hehe. Yeah, only when you're losing inches does that line work. Oh I think I lost a total of about 2 inches overall, but really, I measure like a dozen places, so if I don't lose at least a couple a three inches, there's a serious problem.

So if I only lost 4 pounds for the month, and I only lost 2 inches for the month, what's all the workin' out for? My SparkAmerica tracker (which is wrong, I did more, but it cuts you off at 120 minutes a day) shows me averaging about half an hour of activity per day. I'm not saying I was really on the eating right train, but I wasn't terrible either. And I had made such good and positive changes, too! My soda consumption is down to nearly nothing (maybe one a week if I'm out?), I've been juicing a lot for breakfast getting my servings of fruit and veggies in like a champ. I had big increases in salads (thank you Panera Bread for the summertime strawberry poppy seed salad coming back!). My water intake was beautiful. My exercise...wow...I'm a workout champ with some of this stuff - yoga isn't as easy as it looks! I just hired a personal trainer to kill me once a week. I started cooking more from home instead of going out, my fast food consumption has plummeted. Where did it all go wrong?

There are some numbers in my measurements that I don't want to see again, namely the number 6 in one place and the number 3 in a couple of others. Come hell or high water, I'm NOT going to see them come July 31st. Let's get real, I'm a big girl, and losing inches should be easy peasy. Well, I'm all about the peas if it will get rid of some inches. Here's lookin' at you, measuring tape!!!

    emoticon I'm with ya...June wasn't the best month for me either the 'scales trolls' responsible for my numbers bungee jumping up and down stole my measuring tape and the paper with last months numbers on it ( that's my story and I'm sticking to it!) ....but BOB is on my page now and in my head and I'm working my way through his book and my stinkin' thinkin' so I'm looking for BOTH of us to have a great month losing inches AND pounds! We can do it---YES WE CAN!

    Try not to get too down. Easy for me to say, I know. You are doing great in the exercise! I would like to do half as well. So, that would mean that maybe there is an issue with your food. Try raising your protein and lowering your carbs (bread, pasta). You can add a whey protein shake in the morning for about 200 calories and it gives you 56 grams protein. Just watch that you don't increase calories while adding the extra protein to your diet.

    This may or may not work for you. You have to find the thing that works for your body. It might help, though. Sometimes, you have to experiment a bit.

    Keep up the great work and don't give in. You will do it!
