What does it cost to drop 30 pounds?

Monday, April 21, 2008

I just saw this article on MSN: "What does it cost to drop 30 Pounds?"
http://articles.moneycentral
.msn.com/SavingandDebt/Con
sumerActionGuide/WhatDoesI
tCostToDrop30Pounds.aspx

The article (originally posted online in May 2007) compares the cost of several popular weigh-loss programs. Seeing as how I lost 30 pounds on SparkPeople for FREE, and I'm trying hard to pay off bills instead of incur new ones, I'm feeling pretty good about my decision to get healthy without breaking the bank . . . or eating freeze-dried packaged foods (yuck).

I'm sure most folks here are in agreement - SparkPeople is priceless. Just thought I'd pass on the article so you can feel good about your decision to join Spark, too!

emoticon Isn't it amazing what some people will do or pay to loose weight when all it takes is a few simple things, like planning, paying attention to what you eat when you eat and how much you eat. The excerisize you do for free in your living room. I do the strength excersizes and I do walk with Leslie and I do have a recombend that I ride. I have a schedule that meets my needs at this time but that can be adjusted for situations like vacations. The walk with Leslie will be going with me and I can sign onto here from there as well. Amazing, really !!!

    You are SOOO right!

On a different, but related, note, everytime I'm about to put UNNECESSARY food in my mouth, I think----how much is this REALLY going to cost me if I eat it versus not eating it? Sometimes the clean plate club mentality kicks in and I think about how much the food cost and what a waste it would be to toss it in the trash. Still feels very very wrong to do that. BUT, then I think: how much does it cost to actually eat it? Well, if the calories would take an hour to burn off then it will have cost me an hour of my life. One hour of my life struggling to reverse the effect of having eaten that unnecessary thing. Anyway, I'm babbling. Cya later :)
