    THanks for stopping by my blog yesterday!!! I think Bikram would cause people to push their bodies too far.... not necessarily from the heat, but from the competition.

    My favorite kinds of yoga are "vinyasa" type yoga styles. These are flowing styles that move in and out of poses rather "quickly".... still pretty slow, but fast by yoga standards. The movements are all correlated to your breath, which is somewhat slowed... breathe in for 3 seconds while you move into upward facing dog, breathe out for 3 seconds while you move into downward facing dog, etc... Some specific vinyasa yoga styles are Ashtanga and Moksha - both of these being again a prescribed series of postures that are more or less unchanging. The one that I practice most is Baptiste Vinyasa Power - which is a newer style (hence the yoga purists hating it). It is also done in a heated room, but like 90 degrees, not 104 like Bikram. Baptiste's style has some suggestions of sequencing, but leaves tons of room for the teachers to play around and give you something different each time.
