"It's a new dawn, a new day, a new life for me...
...and I'm feeling good."

Lost 100 pounds and more, then maintained, in my first 5 years on SparkPeople 2008-2013. I logged in nearly every day, grateful to meet amazing people while co-leading the Done Girl team. 2014-2017 – I broke from Spark and let many healthy habits slip away. 2018 is the last of 10 years, and the year I turn 40, and I'm back for more, planning for the next 10!

I'm not just working to lose the pounds-I want a FIT lifestyle, a FIT body, and a FIT mind. And each day gets me closer to my healthy lifestyle ideal. This is permanent. With each new boost of energy, I'm closer to having better surroundings and life than I could previously imagine!

My SparkPage title 2008 ("Dreams so real they grow wild on the vine...") is from a Fastball song, and I added it here because there were so many things that I had locked away as a child, and before SparkPeople. They were like seeds. Seeds of the person I longed to be, and the things I yearned to do. Being a DONE GIRL ~waters~ those seeds, ~thrusts~ them into the soil, ~feeds~ them nutrients to keep growing, and they DO. They grow and bloom and burst forth MORE seeds to again be nurtured and grown themselves. *I* am growing as a person too.

"It's a new dawn, a new day, a new life for me, and I'm feeling good" is a song lyric from "Feeling Good", with a popular version performed by Nina Simone and signifies my renewed effort and life changes in 2016.

My Goals:
More than simply weight loss, I've learned that what is important is strength, endurance, and feeling well. Being consistent matters more than number-based scale goals. YOU can/will do this, and *I* can/will do this!

It's the little things that make life so enjoyable, and I'm greedy and want them all! What makes a breathtaking sunset more enjoyable? Having the strength and energy to stand and watch it. Or better yet, stroll along the beach while gazing out over the Pacific Ocean (without back and knee pain or getting winded)! That''s also what makes SHOPPING, getting the mail, spending time with friends, heck, even DUSTING (daily living) more enjoyable.

My Program:
I spoke at the convention in 2009. I kept 100 lbs or more off for 6 years after that.

Personal Information:
In the long-term, those numbers do say something, (though each one is a tiny corner of a snapshot):

Other Information:
I've fought depression since I was a child, and had many victories. I will re-read my previously written words (below) and find my way out of the darkness again.
The only way to do it is to confront it directly and STAND UP for yourself. Find what you like in yourself, in others, in the world around you. Find what you ENJOY in your journey instead of what you DON'T. The power of your own thoughts are more uplifting or destructive than ANY outside forces. Draw your strength from your spirit, from your God, or from your family. No matter where it originates, it will pulse through you and you will just beam! And you can use that beam to focus your purpose on your wishes and dreams. They CAN come true!

"A man is but the product of his thoughts.
What he thinks, he becomes."
Mahatma Gandhi.

I was looking through old post and saw you are back and I'm so happy. I found a great doctor who has helped me lose 50# and keep it off. Watch his interview on YouTube

Age Management Medicine - Ward Dean, M.D.

I want to drop 20# still since I have the wt in my belly area. Being on Metformin I no longer have cravings which was the reason I did so poorly. I'm at 136#

I have read a wonderful book by John Thomas "Young Again" and he has a helpful web site www.youngagainclub.com He has worked daily since he was 27 to stay fit and young. He's 75 now. (I'm 70).

I found a TedTalk by Danna Pycher who is a Jewish young woman that had been ill in college and then she was in a car accident and she developed Fibromyalgia and a therapist who did hypnosis helped her, so now she is a trauma therapist. I found her talks very interesting. She helps with weight issues, addiction, etc.

Here is to a success 2020. emoticon
