On a happy occasion I'm trying to hide in black. :-( I'm working to change this.
This silhouette of me outlines the reason why I want to improve myself.
Gorgeous Mexico- the land of our daughter's heart.

Will I be good to my future self?
So far, so good...
Nov. 9th, 2014- I'm so thankful for this helpful and incredible SparkPeople Program!!
Through this site I continue to grow and learn about how to take better care of myself. (I lost 5 lbs.)
How fortunate we are that it exists for all of us to use-for free!
And I'm equally grateful for all of you fellow Sparkers out there wherever you are for sharing your stories and even some lovely comments of encouragement.
We're all sailing on the same ...

We're all sailing on the same ship and it is because of you and this fantastic program that I am feeling encouraged and motivated to stay on course.
Your sharing allows me a glimpse of the positive possibilities that await as I continue working towards this weight loss goal. (I still have miles and miles to go-but am feeling like I'll do it this time.)
Being hopeful and optimistic feels amazing.
The above comments were made by a newer, more hopeful me.
The below comments were made by me being not so sure of myself at keeping new goals.
Today is July 24th, 2014 and it will be my third attempt to make a lifestyle change for good.
This is the beginning of an improved me. I do this for me and my family.
(Oh how sad- note to self of 7-24-14. I didn't follow through with those good intentions.)
Okay 4 times the charm?...today is Oct. 18, 2014.
Half of me doesn't want to try any longer. But, my other half is here, typing-and-thinking that I'm getting started again.
Both of my kids have seriously encouraged me to do something about my weight. My mom has encouraged me for years and even said she would do it for me if she could.
My husband has finally said I should work on it a bit.
And here I am, so discouraged right now because I'm growing out of my clothes, which means I'll have to move up a size and buy new clothes. :-(
I can't hide any more.
I'm getting older and much larger-oh my goodness-NOT a good combination is it?
A few years ago I managed to work off 12 pounds. It was such hard work and took a long awhile to finally see results. But it was worth it.
A part of me wants to be wildly successful and to reach my goal. But, the other side of me has unfortunately been the successor.
I've got to care, I must be strong and driven, and I must not be lazy nor give up when I fall down.

My Program:
.
June 20th, 2012-
It seems so providential to have discovered this program today. I believe this will truly help me to succeed.
My new program encompasses:
-Calorie counting
-Drinking 6-8 glasses of water
-Learning nutrition to help me drop unwanted pounds
-Walking
-Exercising
-Journaling/Blogging & Sharing
-Discovering others who are going after the same goals! :-)
Personal Information:
I live in a midwestern city located along the rolling and changeable waters of the Mississippi.
I am passionate about God, Family, Art (visual mostly, but love all other art forms, such as music, cinema, theatre, poetry...)
I have a darling, handsome, loving husband, along with one lovely step daughter and two adorable step-grandchildren, and two amazing kids; a son and a daughter, and now a new little grandson!! We are all artists, each working in different media with unique styles.
I also love food and love to cook!
(My downfall is tasting while I'm preparing food. And I am a stress eater.)
Other Information:
Looking forward to a transformation of this body/temple with God's love and help.
