Hey..I ran the same race yesterday...not my best time but respectable considering I"m new to running and it's more of a run/walk for me. Hope you enjoyed it!!!! emoticon

Good morning. We are already back from our race and it is 9:15. I actually just finished breakfast.

The race was good and the weather cooperated. Sunny and in the 60's. A little warmer than I like for a run but better than 90's!!
My husband pushed my 6 year old son. My daughter and I ran together. She did awesome. It was a 5K and we came in right at 39 minutes. So proud of her. She is 9 and ran almost the entire way. We walked up the last hill and then we were told we had less than a 1/2 mile to go so I cheered her on to the finish line. They moved the finish line and starting line this year. It was great. Before you literally ran up a hill to the finish line. We still ran up that hill but the finish line was a little further ahead. gave you time to catch your breathe before racing to the finish.

How was your race? Was it for a benefit? How far? What is your next race?? emoticon

Thanks for checking in on me and my race. IT was AWESOME! I would do it again. The ending was a killer - all uphill and weaving. It was a tease. You could sort of make out where the finish line was based on the people, but you would turn the corner and you had more to go.

The race was a trail run - my 1st. It was held at the National White Water Rafting Center here in Charlotte. This is their 1st year holding it here and it was to benefit Ovarian Cancer research.

We lucked out on the weather. It was suppose to be rainy all weekend but it did not rain a bit - allowing us to run the trails and not the road coming into the center. Much more fun. Lots of hills, roots, etc but a blast and beautiful scenery. The only bummer was no water or people cheering along the route.

My daughter ran the girls 1 mile. There were less than 20 girls in it. At the end they all received a medal. She loved that - I have one from my 1/2. I took lots of pictures and am hoping to light a spark under her and get her to love running too. Our next race is race for the Cure the 1st weekend of October.

How are you doing? Do you have any races coming up??
