New update:
Spent most of a week in the hospital back in August '14 with Congestive Heart Failure.
I've gained 10 lbs since then.
15 more lbs and I will be right back where I started. 4 years ago. My life is crazy insane busy and i don't know where i'm going to get the energy, physical or mental, to do this thing, but i'm going to do it anyway, or die trying! (Literally!)




Update: 6-28-14
Fresh start! I made it to within four pounds of being overweight rather than obese, then life and stuff happened and I backslid! I'm sort of mad at myself, but that does not undo what's been done so the only thing to do now is do it again! I feel like all kinds of old, creaky, achy, sluggishness, and what kind of way is that to feel? Looking for my best life, a step at a time!

I was 228 lbs and am only 5'2". I got plenty sick and tired of being sick and tired, my knees and feet hurting, the specter of obesity related illnesses rising before me, and decided that enough was enough already! I lost 15 lbs, and then one day, my hubs surprised me with a new yoga mat! On the box was an advertisement for SparkPeople! I looked it up and joined right away! That was on 1-14-11. I didn't become active until 4-11, and have lost 30ish pounds since. But I gained 10 back over the holidays. Taking it more seriously this year!

My Goals:
My goals are: to be vibrant and vivacious. To be as healthy and fit as I can be as i rock into old age, and to make the second half of my life (however long that may be) count for something.
Spring 2012: Run a 5k

Update: I'v now done 3 5k's! I walk rather than run, but have so much fun!


My Program:
i pledge to recognize and reject excuses...

To live for health, mind-body-soul

    Halloween candy has been in the stores since September. Maybe you've even bought a few bags to "stock up" for trick-or-treaters. Even if the bags are still sealed, like a bad horror movie, you hear the whispers -- "We're so sweet and delicious. And tiny. Did we mention tiny? One won't hurt. C'mon, you know you want to."

    Those are gateway candies, my friends! Halloween is the beginning of our annual fall food festival that continues non-stop with ever greater reckless and caloric abandon until it all magically supposedly comes to a halt on January 1. Just say no to Halloween candy.
