Hi, Thanks for visiting my page. I live near Calgary, Alberta Canada on a small ranch where we have cattle, horses and cats and every animal is a working animal. The cats have it best though, all they need to do is keep the mouse population down and if they feel lazy they don't even have to do that cause they have self feeders and waterer!!! DH has been cutting back on the cattle end of things and of late we have been spending a few weeks in a warmer climate for the last 3 winters. Knitting, crocheting, gardening, taking pictures and oh yes reading are some of my favorite things to do. Life is grand.

I became an Avon Rep in the summer of 2018 and am LOVING it. Haven't made any money but can say with confidence that I have lots of products!!!

January 2019 I'm an emotional eater so when things get stressful I eat!! Oh yes, did I mention that I am horribly addicted to sugar. Once I start eating that demon food I just can't seem to quit so my weight yo yos like crazy. This is the time for me to beat this addiction because once I do that my weight will remain more constant, I will feel better, have more energy and beat the depression that sets in when I go on one of my many binges. Does anyone see a pattern here? Sugar, depression, emotional eating, sugar . . . . . and round and round it goes.

March 12, 2019 My efforts to lose weight have failed miserably and I'm up to the weight I was when I started SparkPeople. I haven't been tracking my food on SP for nearly a year and have started again today.

My Goals:
April 13/19 My main goal is to lose 5% on the Spring Challenge with the Rowdy Rebels. Back tracking and very rarely have a sweet treat. Onward and upward woo hoo

My Program:
Walk daily (Wear a pedometer)
Gym a minimum 3x a week cardio Stretch, balance & Flexibility exercises

Married second time in 1992. together we have 5 children and 13 grandchildren. Am prediabetic and dh is type 2 so eating healthily is a priority. My mom had alzheimers (passed April 16/16) I am always looking for information on how to keep "Alzy" off my doorstep. update Nov 7/15 No longer prediabetic. Woo hoo.

Other Information:
Anything else you would like to tell people. Could include things like your favorite books or movies, a quote, anything.

I make wine, have done so for years but at the present time am abstaining as I have gained weight and am working hard on getting it off and get maintaining again.

Thank you for stopping by my SparkPage. I am doing okay, or as well as I can. I do believe things happen in threes and I am about at wits end with it! LOL My washing machine died after only 11 years, my mower died (it had been overhauled in the past year), then my dog got really sick. Grrrr... God will prevail however. I am humbly on my knees praying, singing His praises and worshiping Him. He will not give me more than I can handle. Thank God, I am still in my right mind and I can do for myself.

    Wishing you a wonderful summer.

    SparkHugs,

    Nola

Oh how wonderful to hear from you. Yes, we have had a heck of a time this year with all the rain and the flooding. He men have finally got the beans plants and are now working on the corn. Never have been so late, but I some areas not that far away, haven't got anything planted yet. I have yet to get my bulbs planted not only due to the weather but due to my back. The old girl is slowing down, what use to take me an hour to do, now takes at least a whole day, due to the back saying NO. Larry is doing great, he retired last year, but now is helping his brother farm. About all he doesn't do now is the decision making, and I think it was a great decision, as I see little things that are different than they were before his ordeal 2 years ago. Gosh, it doesn't seem like it was that long, as I remember it like it was yesterday.
Yes, the last couple of days the smoke from the Canadians fires has reached us, as we have a haze, and the weatherman says it from the fires. It really is amazing how far that smoke will carry.
Well, you take care and don't breath to much of that smokey air. Linda

I have had a rough time losing on this Spring Challenge, in fact gained, thankfully not 5%! I got stuck over the winter and really am just starting to break loose a bit. Just have to keep plugging along!
