I am looking for some new friends and Christian fellowship.

My name is Faye. I am 70 years old. I live with my husband of 49 years in the beautiful State of Maine.

My starting wt was 243 lbs and I lost 55 lbs. But have gained back some of it. I was down to 210 when I joined Spark People. Losing wt has always been a struggle for me. I need so much encouragement and hoping to find it here.

My Goals:
I just want to lose wt to feel good and to be healthy. I started out at 243 several years ago. I knew I had to start being serious about my wt. Over several years ago, a doctor told me that I needed to take off 100 lbs and at that time I weighed 235 lbs. He made me so angry, I stopped going to him and changed doctors. Well the new doctor was a little more tactful about it and suggested I lose at least 100 lbs to keep my b/p down and to get my cholesterol down below 200. So I agreed to try.

I felt I was just too fat to bother. But then I got the scare of my life. I ended up in the hospital with chest pains. No, it wasn't a heart attack, but sure did wake me up. But by then I was up to 243. I tried dieting on my own for a while and it just wasn't working. So I stumbled onto a program on the internet and I stared on it Jan 18, 2006.

I fell off the wagon, and gained back some wt.

I am discourage and just don't want to try anymore. I lost my insp

My Program:
I am trying to eat right by eating the right types of food. I am exercising and walking when I can. My goal wt for now is 150. But Lord willing maybe get down to 130/135. I am 5' 5" Tall and small boned.

Personal Information:
I am from Maine...my name is Faye. I have been married to the same man now for 49 years. We have two grown married children. A daughter with 3 small children. A son with three grown children in their 20's.

My husband has been diagnosed with Parkinson's. It is a very stressful time for both of us.

Other Information:
The things I like to do most are: read, knit, crochet, sew, walk when I can, and write. I was working on a novel, but it got put on the back burner for now. I put out a prayer letter five days a week. I call it HAVE FAITH IN HIM. I have around 63 readers now.

Thanks so much for the Goodie and the encouragement! It was so nice of you to comment.

I AM sticking to my goals. I just haven't updated my weight loss for a while. I'm wearing clothes that are almost 3 sizes smaller now and continuing with my exercise 60+ minutes 6 days/week. I've gotten away from obsessing about the scale because I'm happier concentrating on the change in the way my clothes fit.

    Have a wonderful day!
