Hi Sis, you ask: "how does this fasting thing you do work? I'm not sure I could manage it... but I'd like to learn about how it works."
I never thought "fasting" was something I could do either but, I wasn't a breakfast person anyway so, I just waited until I was really hungry before I ate one day. I counted the hours from dinner the night before through to my first meal that day and I had fasted for 18 hours. I was amazed at how easy it was and as you may know I'm doing Keto so with the higher amount of fat in my diet it keeps me full longer.
If you care to look at my team "Keto - Intermittent Fasting & Dr. Berg's Videos" and lessen to a video or two on the thread "METABOLISM & Intermittent Fasting ~ Key.." it will explain a lot better than I can. Also, I use an app called "ZERO" to help me keep track of my fasting.
I hope this helps answer what you wanted to know. Keep up the good work it's better to get down to your goal weight while you are young and learn to maintain it than to struggle with it when you are older and have a lot slower metabolism. That's what I have done so trust me when I say you are smart to do it now. (((Hugs))) Bobbie

Is that not the craziest thing about the bowling ball? And it turns out 17# is actually a tad heavier than one anyway -- it kindof blew my mind! Thanks for the encouragement - have a great day! I'm adding you to my friends list! 330 days ago

Hi Sis, I think you're doing Great!!! You have the right attitude that's for sure. If you don't mind me saying so, I like your hair best dark, I'm guessing that is your natural color. Your skin is fair so you bring Snow White to mind. Keep doing what you're doing and you'll get there.
I have been doing no sugar for 160 days now and fasting for over 100 days. My goal was to get my blood sugar down to normal and lose a little weight. My blood sugar is normal now (down from 250/300 to 90/100 when I wake-up). I have lost a few pounds as a side effect of no sugar and fasting for 18 to 20 hours in a 24 hour time span. Not much exercise at all. I'm a lot older than you so my metabolism really messed up due to yoyo dieting over the years and things like having to have a hysterectomy at 28 years old.
The moral of that story is keep working on your healthy lifestyle, something you can live with for the rest of your life and you will be able to reach your goals and stay healthy and slim the rest of your life.
