Hello! Thank you for visiting my spark page. I have been sparking seriously for just over a year now and love this site as a weight loss tool, but even more as a way of learning how different people handle different situations that usually we all run into at one time or another.

I have lost 50 lbs since last year, started running and joined challenges that have helped me learn so much. I would never have come as far as I have or believed I could run, but reading others blogs and visiting message boards let me know I could do it. I have a long ways to go in terms of learning to live a healthy lifestyle but am enjoying it. I have been plateaued since last October but reading everyone's blogs and spark pages keeps me going. But mainly, I think its the 5% challenges that really help me to keep coming back. I love the fact that they help me to have something to focus on each week and I continue to use the things we do on a regular basis.

Fitness Minutes: 19,595

My Goals:
1. Drink 64 oz of water daily
2. Walk 3 days a week
3.Be able to run 5K
4.figure out a "healthy" balance of carbs/protein/fat
for my body


My Program:
I am not really following a specific program right now. I monitor to keep my food intake in ranges except for high calorie days when I am calorie cycling. I run 2-3 times a week, take zumba and step aerobic classes and do the Firm and Turbo Jam videos at home. During the summer months I add bike rides as well.



Personal Information:
I am a 39 year old mother of two, married to the love of my life, Don for almost 12 years. I enjoy camping, four wheeling, spending time at the lake, traveling, date nights in the city, reading, spending time with my family.


Other Information:
I love to read just about anything I can learn from but then you will find me reading Nicolas Sparks books that I dont really learn from but just enjoy reading.

    Congrats on getting back to your exercise routine and not getting discouraged by the unwanted break! It's like riding a bike uphill. If you have to stop half-way up, starting back up seems like a daunting task--not because the hill has magically become steeper, but because the momentum is gone. I think the fact that you've been able to start back just as strong as you'd been going shows just how strong your commitment and willpower are. Keep up the great work!

    Thanks for the comment on my blog. You can do this. I have lost 30 pounds over the course of the last 2-3 years, and kept it off. The slower you lose the easier it is to keep off. Just take it one day at a time. Finding balance isn't easy, but you can do it.

    Hi Toni! Thanks for the comment on my blog! I also want to tell you that you can be on the success train!!!!!!!!!!! I have came a long way. In 2007 I was diagnost with heart failure and I weighed around 250lbs. I too have thyroid issues but they are currently under control. I still have flare ups on my hesrt failure, but not nearly as much as it was. Success is just a reach away. Although at times it may feel that it is a long reach, just believe in your self and reach!
    Just remember don't give up on yourself, because you are worthy of being healthy and happy! I wish you luck and I am always here if you need encouragement. Think big for yourself and reach for the skies for your success! Time to get the train moving TOOT TOOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! By the way my name is Saumbra! emoticon
