Swirling and twirling through life with a husband and four children! Join me as I attempt to tame the binging banshee and improve my health. May 2021 Four years.....I am growing more comfortable as I age. Sometimes I care about weight and fitness, while other times I’m too tired to care. Nothing major is happening, just life. Kids growing up, I decided to work part-time after 15 years at home (then quit for three months, but going back soon), I’ve lost weight and gained strength, but hurt my knee again so taking it easy, and I’m needing the emotional outlet of journaling. That’s why I’m on SP again, I like to blog as I process the world and receive feedback from fellow travelers. Oct. 2017 Wow, over two years since I thought about myself. How did that happen? Life just keeps rolling along and I just keep binging and gaining weight. This has to stop!! Hurt my knee in 2015, root tear in the meniscus, so I shut down mentally. Plus, kids are growing and getting involved in all sorts of stuff, I barely have time to sleep. NOT GOOD. Life has recently shown me that I have to slow down and take care of myself. Began again on Feb. 25, 2015 at 192 pounds. 2/25/15 192 lbs 3/30/15 186 lbs 6/10/15 190 lbs June 2015: Let's try this again! New month, new challenge! Bring on June! SUMMER MELTDOWN with the INDIGO team! April 2015: Spring 5% Challenge - Begins April 4, 2015 May 18 - I totally bombed on the challenge! I injured a knee and gave into a bit of depression because of it. Update March 2015: I started my journey a month ago, and I'm a learning so much about myself. I never knew that I had such an iron will to stick to a plan for several weeks. In the past it was one or two days, then a failure, and then I threw my hands up in despair and quit. This time, I ran into a wall and instead of turning around and slinking off into the past, I figured out a way over the wall. It was not easy, NOT AT ALL! I failed, I gained some weight back, I felt bad, but I moved on and didn't give up. I'm excited to see what this month brings in my journey to healh. (scroll down for stats) Update Feb. 2015: I am healing inside and out and have resumed my journey to healthy eating and movement. It has taken a over a year to process a ton of personal upheaval, but with the love of friends and family, the help of a doctor, and my finally admitting that I can't go on this way, I am emotionally ready to change my life -- one small step at a time (and sometimes I hop on both feet). Update Dec 2013: I am struggling immensely with beginning this journey. I started, then stopped, which is very common, but emotionally I am at a standstill. Lots of life changes happening this year, so I put myself on the back burner because I had some very convenient excuses. I do not have a surge of energy, but I am slowly, slowly taking steps toward tackling my weight issues that stem from my unhealthy relationship with food. I am attempting to grab onto that inner child's hand and walk with her as she starts to love herself - faults, disappointments, weight, and all. One moment at a time. One step at a time. One less piece of candy at a time.
