Ok, so I'm 29, I was diagnosed bi-polar in 2004, was hospitalized last December for my depression, and I am on disability for a combination of my depression and injuring my shoulder at work when I was a nursing assistant in 2007. I was 128 lbs. back when I was working, and since then I have gained quite a bit of weight. I am not sure if it is due to inactivity, or if my meds have changed the way they have been working on me mentally and metabolically. My anti-depressants helped me lose alot of weight when I first started taking them, so I am not sure if that particular side-effect is wearing off, or if my weightgain is just solely from my lack of activity and eating more than I used to..

Whatever the case is, I am bigger and more uncomfortable and must get the weight back off. The problem.. I have a lot less energy, my depression is pretty bad, and I have recently been having some really bad joint pain which doesnt make things any easier on me. I also have been struggling with getting my portions back in check and trying to utilize this sites food tracker on a regular basis.

Motivation and tips are welcome!

My Goals:
I want to get down to 130 lbs...I was the most healthy I have ever felt at that weight. If I feel the need to lose any more, I will take it from there. I also want to make sure I continue to exercise regularly as a lifelong habit.

My Program:
Well, my being a vegetarian is just part of my lifestyle, not part of my program, so I dont include that. I walk, or do my elliptical 2-3 days per week, I try to workout on weight machines at my Rec Center 2-3 days per week. Portion control needs improvement.

I am a big music fan..I love any genre except rap/hip hop, or country. I do not like t.v...I find that acting has gone down the tubes. I like anime, comedy and action movies, and enjoy reading, cooking, and walking outdoors. I also have a big fascination with other ppls cultures, especially Japanese.

    You commented on my Superfood blog that you want more info. The Goji berries are best taken by themselves or mixed in a trail mix with nuts and seeds. A palm full a day is the recommended daily dosage. I can provide you a website with all the superfoods listed and recommended usage. email me
    These are not the normal produce you find in a grocery store. They are mostly food additives that provide a ton of nutrients.

    thats a good plan, give you something to shoot for in the mean time, i might have to look into something like that get some goals up there so i can start up again. Kind of fell off the wagon for the past 24 hrs and now im just trying to sort of find my bearings with having to begin again

    your absolutely right winter is sort of blah, its a pretty season watching the snow cover everything, but when it comes down to it, being in the freezing cold makes me want to go home curl up under the covers and watch a movie!!! Not to mention the extra pounds people usually end up packing on during the cold so their bodies can adjust and be warm! grr silly weather lol---just think before you know it itll be warm again and right after itll be hot and ill be planning on laying on the beach :)
