Hey fellow spark people!! My name is Carrie I am 27 years old (yikes I'm getting close to 30!!!) I am currently starting to healthy after several very unhealthy years. It started about 5 years ago. I was in the best shape of my life because it was easy, I had a very active job and no resposibilities. My husband was deployed to Iraq and I only worked full time, so with all my spare time I worked out and was very active! I am 5'9 and at that time I weighed 160lbs. I was happy, healthy and full of energy.

Now is a different story. I currently work at a desk job where I have hardly any movement except when my co-worker and I decide to take walks. Since I started this job (5 years ago) I have gained 70lbs. I worked full time, had household duties, went to college full time, had my daughter Kaileigh, completed an internship, all while trying to have some sort of a life. I also had to help my mother who was diagnosed with stage 3 lung cancer and I have been dealing with my own health/ cancer issues as well. Well, needless to say working out fell to the wayside. I became depressed and severely anxious.

I am now done with my degree (my graduation is April 28th, 2012!!! YAY!!!) and done with my internship now. So I have more time on my hands. I did go on anti-depressants and anti-anxiety meds which have helped me relieve ALOT of stress.

I have tried gym after gym, with a workout buddy and without a workout buddy, nothing has stuck in the last several years. I would just get bored of the eliptical or tredmill. That was until I started at NEW VYBE. New Vybe is a different type of workout, it is high energy dancing (similar to Zumba, but WAY better) they also offer strength training and kickboxing which I have come to love!!! I find myself longing to go to class now where before I would dread working out. I feel so much better already and I look forward to how good I will feel next month let alone next year!

My Goals:
My goal is to start living a healthy and active lifestyle that will only make me feel better and look better. I want to feel comfortable in my own skin for once. Now I also have a new reason to start living healthy, I need to keep up with my child when I have him. I have to be able to keep up. Plus when they get older I don't want my kid to be ashamed of me. I want him/her to be proud of their mom.

My Program:
Mostly trying to become more active while making better food choices. I am changing my lifestyle. I am not on a diet. Diets fail.

Personal Information:
I am 27 years old, a wife and a mother of a 2 and a half year old little girl named Kaileigh. Between her and my husband I couldn't ask for more. They are everything to me and without them I would be lost. I recently finished my Bachelors degree in Human Resources! And I am now finally able to persue my interests and hobbies like cake decorating and becoming more active. My husband and I have been married for 7 years and we have been together for 15 years, yes that's right 15 years ( I was 12). He was my first love and he is my life.

    I saw on the Young Mom's team that you need support. Remember take it one day at a time. Our first job is to be great moms and the rest will fall into place. It can be so difficult to find time to exercise, take care of the kids and house, eat the right foods, etc. Some days it seems like everything I do is a chore. We are all here for you and everything will work out!
