Once upon a time I was fit, but the last time was in 1994... Since then I have discovered that my resting weight is around 160lbs, and I do mean RESTING weight! About eight years ago I joined Weight Watchers and was very successful, getting down to around 145lbs and staying there for about three years.

But that was five years ago... In September 2008 I joined an At-Work Weight Wacthers meeting and again lost the weight. As of Mar/10 I am now at my lowest weight in a long time (130) which I think is a healthy weight for a 5'6" woman. But I'm not yet fit!

I want to get in better shape now. I'm 38, what am I waiting for? To be engaged? Have a baby? Why wait for one of those milestones to happen when I can be fit in the meantime! My success so far has definitely made me a happier person and I only see more happiness to come!

In January 2009 I joined a Running Room Learn to Run 5K class and did really well. I continued with a 10K clinic and ran the Blue Nose 10K in 58:41 in May/09. I then struggled with an injury but still ran the Valley Harvest half marathon in 2:18 in October/09 in Wolfville, NS. Since then I have found a new phsyiotherapist and am happy to report that I am now running without pain for the first time since May/09!

I ran my 2nd half on Feb. 7/10 at a PR time of 2:14:47 and ran four others this year before my 1st full at the 2010 Athens Marathon (yes, Greece!), raising money for arthritis research. And now that I'm a marathoner, I'm still not fit!

I have met a few SP friends in person and have made many more virtual friends. I hope that each year I can meet more SP friends and maybe run a race together somewhere fun? Miami in January and Pittsburgh in May are on the books for next year, with HTC in August 2012 on the distant horizon.

I joined the Biggest Loser challenge for round 12 and with the help of my fellow Jade Dragons, am in my new goal weight range of 131-136. I moved up to be a Co-Captain for round 13 and am thrilled to be the new Captain for round 14! GO DRAGONS!
