Livin' in the moment . . . .
The way I see it, there is nothing new under the sun. Not being the first to have said that, I have my own take on it. When I was young, I thought "real" life would start in the future somewhere. Didn't seem to be happening in the "present" at least according to me. I longed for the event that would confirm I was living life to the fullest. Looking back, the "cruise ship of life" launched while I was looking somewhere else. Maybe the way you find the "it" factor in life is realizing the best ...
Maybe the way you find the "it" factor in life is realizing the best things can slip right past you. There's no time like the present for an attitude adjustment. I've stopped looking for the mythical "new thing" and enjoy what's around me right now.
Even though I'm a good way into my life experience, I feel like this is the first day of the trip. Tomorrow will be the same because it's new all over again. I take as many "deep breaths" as I can because it helps me remember to slow down. Moments by their nature can't be held onto as they race into our "memories". Their fragrance lingers . . . good or bad.
I have no regrets. Experiences have "sculpting" my life and therefore each one has value. If they were negative, I learned to face adversity and felt the regenerating power of healing. If they were positive, my heart was glad and soared as if it had wings. In the mix, I've become who I am and can face my history as well as the "rest of my story" with grace.
Anyway, I'm full of words and this seems like a good venue to spill some out. Expressing some of the "word" weight will be therapeutic. Not holding back because that would defeat the purpose. No denial, because I've found strength in facing hard times. Speaking the truth with love and maintain a pioneering spirit will keep me in check. I'm compelled to overcome challenges. Peace is my reward.
