Having been successful using Spark People, I want to encourage others.

This is what works for me:
1. Planning all the food I'll eat for the day (including snacks and healthful items such as fruit, veggies, and nuts), adding up the calories and subtracting where necessary to stay within my calorie limits.
2. Carrying a pre-measured bottle or glass of water with me all day and refilling.
3. I'm very competitive so I try to score the maximum Spark points for cardio (2 hours) each day. Sometimes THAT motivates me more than knowing exercise is good for me!
4. Logging into Spark People DAILY and reading the Nutrition, Health, and Motivation articles to remind me what is TRULY important - my health. I also like to read other people's blogs for encouragement.
5. Staying away from chips and cookies and cakes as much as possible.
6. Brushing my teeth RIGHT after dinner and not eating for the rest of the day.
7. When my clothes fit comfortably I know I'm on track. When they start getting snug I know I am eating too much.

You look fabulous at goal weight! How long did it take?

If you need an idea of what to DO with all of those strawberries, shooot, I have kids, and my strawberries don't even make it in the house ;-p

Thanks for the comment and encouragement... I guess maybe I am expecting too much of myself- It just seems to take SO long for anything to happen! And now that I moved and basically lost 10 days, it's slowed to a crawl if not reversed! I just get discouraged! I desperetly don't want to be fat for my birthday in 5 months!

Oh and about the envelope- that's a good idea, thanks! I'll start trying it... =)

Hey Teddye, thanks for the comment on my page! There are lots of hikes around Emerald Bay, I'm sure at least one that would fit your bill. You can do a short hike down to Vikingholm, I've never done it, but it's about a mile or 2, down then up. I hear it's steep, but short. From the other side of the road, near Eagle Falls (I think, you could google it to be sure) you can access Desolation wilderness. You can pretty much write your own ticket from there of how far, and where to hike. There are lots of lakes and peaks to choose from. Also from the road that goes to Fallen Leaf Lake there are also more trail heads to Desolation. You need a permit, but can get one at the trail head, and they are free. It's a really nice area, and beautiful too!
