I am 43 divorced single mother. As I am getting older, I am finding it really difficult to lose weight. In the past I had great success with calorie counting, running and ediets challenges. Having tried this route again without success, I read the South Beach Supercharged book. I have always felt carbohydrates are seriously contributing to obesity in our country, including childhood obesity. I am a nurse pursuing my Master's degree, and have read a lot on obesity. South Beach diet has given me the balance of healthy eating and inclusion of carbs in a way that is compatible with everyday living. Sparkpeople has so much support and information that I turn to it when i find myself off track. Terri

My Goals:
I have lost 15 pounds and would like to lose more to put me in the "healthy" BMI range. 130 is the goal!


My Program:
The most recent success I have had is South Beach diet. I found phase 1 really did eliminate cravings and appetite. I finally made real progress losing 22 pounds!....and maintaining that for 4 months.
Addendum: summer vacations got the best of me and I regained 7 pounds. Back to South Beach I go b/c it is the most sensible, realistic diet I have tried.



Personal Information:
I live in beautiful Albuquerque, New Mexico. I have 2 sweet kids, Thomas and Andrea. I have been an RN for 23 years and currently work 12 hour day shifts as a charge nurse in ICU. I love my job. Recently, I completed my Bachelor's degree online and now am working on my Master's!


Other Information:
Some of my favorite things are baseball, football, hiking and being social with my friends. My favorite TV shows are Seinfeld, Fringe, Two and a Half Men, Grey's Anatomy.
