Introduction Text Hi. My name is Leigh. It has been a tough few years for me. In 2010, my son graduated from high school. In 2011, he moved out on his own - happy for him - but suddenly I discovered the "empty nest". Later in 2011, I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, stage IIIC. I underwent a radical hysterectomy. My mother also became bed bound due to her health conditions. I have to be honest. I sunk into a deep depression and was playing the "poor me" card. I went through 6 months of chemo treatments, lost my hair, went through a lot of emotional roller coasters. In 2013, I decided I needed to move closer to my mom because her health was steadily declining. I was offered in a job in my beautiful home state of Va. I also reconnected with my soul mate. In April 2013, I moved back to Virginia to take on the new job and be closer to my mom. She passed away in Feb. 2014. I have been spiraling downwards since then and finally picked my head up to say no more depression. In the meantime, I have gained all the weight I had lost previously and then some. I now have 50 pounds to lose. My body has been affected by the cancer treatments. I'm hoping this journey will get easier as time goes by. I had to put my beautiful shepherd and pomeranian down in July due to their health and old age. I still have my beautiful male shepherd. I am engaged to my soul mate and he has spent many hours changing my life. I have had the pleasure of visiting Hawaii and more recently Ireland. Yes, life has taken a turn for the better. Life each day and make every moment count because in the end we will realize it is the little moments that counted the most.

Originally from Axton VA I lived in Fort Myers Fl. for over 23 years. I grew up in the Blue Ridge Mountains and thought I always hated the cold. Once I had the radical hysterectomy, I was thrown immediately into menopause. I moved back to the mountains and now appreciate the cooler weather.

I enjoy photography, scrapbooking, reading and jogging when I have the time. I have 2 teenage boys - men now - who live on their own. I have 1 black and tan shepherd. Life is good. My motto - Living Life Well!
