The reality is...next year my age turns to my favorite number - 37. The second reality is that I've been a Spark member for over 8 years, and I still haven't made the effort to make lasting changes. I've had ups and downs, but at some point I would always think there was a way to 'have my cake and eat it, too'. As it turns out, too much of that cake turns the scales up again.

The last few years have snuck up on me. The weight never shot up so drastically that I would wake up one day wondering where that 25 pounds came from. Rather it's been about 10 pounds per year - nothing to sneeze at with my size. Except all those years add up in many other ways. Like, recurring knee/joint pain, back pain, random aches all over my body, and my favorite - wheezing like I just ran a marathon getting up the single flight of stairs to my condo. It really didn't happen overnight, but these other non-pound additions have hit me like a ton of bricks and they're lingering and won't go away.

It's high time to get my act back in gear. To start moving my body. To make at least a couple of lasting habit changes to begin heading in the right direction. And this time, I don't need a New Years resolution to get started.

Fitness Minutes: 7,279

My Goals:
1-derland. I don't need to squeeze into single digit pants. I need to have free range of mobility, have a body that doesn't resist what I ask it to do, isn't in constant pain, and doesn't argue about properly fitted clothing. I expect the final number to fall between 180 and 190.


My Program:
The "Moderation" Diet. This simply means I'm not running out to do 10 miles on the treadmill and only eat twigs and berries. It means incorporating more activity into my life on a consistent basis, making better food choices without starving myself, and mostly being aware of what I'm doing and not doing to further my weight loss cause.

Currently living in Denver, CO with my husband, Josh.


Other Information:
Are there any other Denver (south, Parker-ish or Highlands Ranch-ish) Sparkers that aren't super fast on the trails and wants to get out and adventure with me?
