Chicago Race for the Cure 09. I don't look especially elegant running or after a race, but I finish and I keep finishing faster than I did before!

I've been working on weight loss for quite a few years now, more and less seriously, and more recently I've ramped up the intensity. At this point I'm working with a personal trainer on resistance and endurance training and running all the 5Ks I can find! I'm extremely proud of my progress so far both in that I've lost 24 lbs so far and that 4 miles is totally doable for a jog now. I can't say of which I'm more proud.

However, over the last few months I've been focusing more on the exercise and less on the diet and my progress has gone down to nearly zilch. I need to focus on making sure I take in the right number and kind of calories. One of the things I'm trying to grasp right now is that I most likely need to eat more calories to lose weight, not fewer. I eat breakfast every day, but apparently I need to eat more small snacks throughout the day.

One thing I'm looking for here is support in my running and hopefully people in the area to job with

You'll totally be able to hit that 500 mark. You can use the 2 mile runs as the stepping stone to help strengthen yourself for more and more. The progress you've made in PT and all is fantastic. You should be very proud of that. emoticon OPAAA!!! (like from My Big Fat Greek Wedding) I have a friend who went from barely able to run a mile to now running 11 miles in one go. That was just 4 months ago (and intermittent falling off the bandwagon) But the point is that it is possible to get back on there and CRUSH your goal. You have the determination, and you have the drive. Keep at it and you will make that dream become a reality! emoticon I can't wait to hear more about your journey to 500 and all other fun times you have getting there emoticon . Keep a bloggin too, I'll read 'em!!!

OH NOES! Sorry abt the tensing up while running. That is no good. Do you think Yoga would help with stretching and such? I hope you are able to get back on your feetsies soon with 100% recovery!

    Here is another cute kittie.

hey girl...in regard to your comment about BC on my blog...yeesh. does it ever affect my weight loss!!! essentially while Depo BC, it inhibits weight loss and increases appetite...awesome. i have done tons of article research and talked to two physicians. i have decided anything that manipulates hormones is NOT for me.

but i was due for my last shot on March 3 and didn't get it. it takes about 3-6 months for my body to stabilize hormonally again. this same thing happened to me in Jan 2009. with success in approximately 6 months after the last shot.

it stinks that i have to compromise one for the other.
