I have been genetically blessed with a pretty healthy body and active metabolism. But I realize in looking back that I have often tried to "eat" away my stress, and it has been those times in my life when I have gained weight. I have never even probably been in a truly "overweight" range according to most charts, but 150 pounds on my 5'6" frame did NOT look good! I have been up that high a couple of times, and each time have been able to reign it back in. The major change came in around 2005 or so when I hit 40 and realized my weight had yet again climbed to about 148 pounds, not to mention the fact that I felt absolutely awful due to the onset of IBS and my poor eating habits. I completely changed the way I ate and began working out on a daily basis, and quickly lost over 30 pounds. At 115, I was a bit too thin so I gained back to a range of 120-125. In 2009 under a lot of life stress, I gained back 10 pounds which puts me at the 130 pounds I am currently schlepping around! I have been trying to get back to 120 for over a year now with no success! Now at age 45 it has become almost impossible to get the scale to move and on top of that I have had to return to work after 15+ years as a stay at home mom, and I have injured my back in a way that has really changed my life. Nevertheless I am determined to keep fighting the good fight and am determined to see 125 and then 120 on that darn scale again someday soon!
