Starting over again. Not sure when I wrote the words below (at least one year ago), but they sound familiar.......however, I am STILL not giving up. Today is 1/20/14. I pray this truly WILL be my year to get healthy!

Here I go again.........I figure I have lost and re-gained hundreds of pounds over the past 20 years. Ugh. What a waste. However, I'm choosing NOT TO DWELL on this! Instead, I am going to focus on staying positive and never giving up! I have learned that when I am using SparkPeople, tracking my food & exercise, I see positive results! It is up to me to put in the time and make the effort. I don't know of anyone who has lost 100+ pounds, and gotten healthy by sitting on their couch. So, what am I waiting for? Seriously.... I am not waiting any more! I can do something positive for my health each day.

My Goals:
A few of my goals/motivators for getting healthy and losing weight:
being around to see my daughters get married, possible grandchildren, going ice skating, horseback riding, amusement park rides, body surfing in the ocean & gulf of Mexico, get off blood pressure medication, not be afraid of the camera, buy "normal" sized clothing, not have to wear a bra with ten rows of hooks in the back, I could go on and on....

My Program:
First and Foremost: having God in my life and doing His will. Including: lifestyle changes--healthier food choices, portion control, walking and Celebrate Recovery to deal with emotional eating issues, co-dependency, and all the other challenges that come my way!

Personal Information:
I have lived in mid-Michigan all of my life. I love traveling to Florida. I love the beach, the water and sunshine!

I am 53 years old and have two amazing daughters! One is already a Spartan Alum. My youngest should be graduating Dec. 2012. I have worked at MSU since 1981. My mom and dad met at MSU. My dad played football here. I BLEED GREEN.

I swim at the IM Circle in the mornings before work. Linda S. from OFA also swims then so it's fun to see her there, too. :-)

And, hey, AWESOME on your water and DSD's this weekend!!!

Okay, so hopefully tomorrow will be a better day............My student workers will be back so that will definitely keep me busy - AND entertained!!

    Hey there!

Well, the game was really fun and I'm glad we went. Outback had a 50-60 minute wait at 4:45 in the afternoon so we BAILED!! We ended up at Carrabba's and had a FABULOUS dinner!! I kept to my "no alcohol" even though I was tempted but I did indulge in the bread and some of the meal. I took most of it home but ended up having an ice cream sandwich at the game. :-)

I realized that one of the biggest things about the DSD is that it forces me to make a plan - at least for one little thing. Whenever there is a plan, things go better. Plan fails, then not so great - but last night was not too horrible either. I had a very light lunch and did a big workout so I didn't feel too bad about eating what I did. :-)

Today, I'm just plain cranky. :-( dang hormones........oh well, at least the pool opens up again tomorrow and I can get back in the water. That will be awesome!!

Okay, ttyl.......yee haw.......almost Monday. Not. BOOOOOOOO!!!!

YOU ROCK!!! 10 glasses of water and a successful DSD yesterday!! DANG woman, no wonder you are such a super important person across the Red Cedar! ;-)

Today, be jealous.......I am going to the SPAAAAAAARRRTANS Hockey game tonight. :-D GO GREEN!!!

We don't usually go to sporting events since it's so loud and crazy and whatnot but we are GAME tonight! Free tickets help, too. ;-)

Okay, DSD for today........hmmmmmm...........let's see......We're going to Outback tonight too so I will commit to making a healthy dinner choice at Outback. I'll check the calories online before we go and I will make a low cal healthy choice for supper!! AND I will not get any alcohol with supper.

    :-)
