Hi, My name is Suzy. After gaining about 30 pounds many years ago, I've lost and gained the same measley 5-10 pounds multiple times. Now I realize I'm not only overweight, but horribly unfit. . . .41% body fat and weak.

At 66. I've become the person I swore I would never be. YIKES, it's time to get serious.

UPDATE July 30, 2015. Since beginning SP in October, 2013, I've surprised myself by losing 16 pounds, 6 of the 16 this year. Plus, my body fat has lowered to 35%. My technique of recent months has been eating less and moving more. Not a structured exercise program, just moving when I would really prefer sitting (you know, couch potato style) along with walking most evenings. It's worked so far! My Spark Tracker has been a wonderful incentive by making filling up the circle of lights a daily goal. Working towards another 5 pounds by Christmas. I know that sounds like a small goal but it has doable potential.

My Goals:
Get physically fit. Firm up my fluffy pounds of popped popcorn into firm pounds of popcorn kernels. Losing body fat and inches is more important than the actual weight, but I need to lose weight in the process, too.

My Program:
I was too self-conscious to work out at a club or go swimming, but for the past month I've been doing both. I joined a club for people 50+ and absolutely love it. I'm taking swim lessons, mostly to make sure I actually get to the pool twice a week. I feel great after each gym/swim session, but it's still a stretch for me to actually WANT to go. My dog is keeping motivated for walks!

Personal Information:
My husband and I live on a ranch with horses, mules, llamas, cats and dogs . Soon it will be stall cleaning twice daily for at least 7 months. Super workout time that I had better utilize well.

    Since you belong to the SP Oregon team, I assume you live in OR.... which part? You live on a ranch, with HORSES!! I loved horses since I was a little girl ... have only had a chance to own a couple in my life. (I grew up a small town "city" girl). Love all animals, but horses will always hold a special place in my heart.
    My hubby had family in Bend, and we used to love to take our motorcycle vacations into Oregon. Beautiful state.
    OK enough chit chat ... back to your walking (P.S. I sent a goodie but mistakenly said it was for your running mojo. Who knows, maybe you're speeding things up???) emoticon
