I'm a 44 year old working mom with 3 beautiful, active boys. I've been struggling with gaining and losing the same 6-15 pounds for the last several years. My exercise program has been an off and on thing which does not help. I really want to lose 12-15 pounds and keep it off permanently. Like so many other working moms, finding time to squeeze in exercise and good meal planning is a heady challenge. But I press on...

I tend to snack a lot & the food tracker is key for me to have awareness of what I'm doing. It helps me take responsibility for my what I'm putting in my mouth and puts the power of choice back in my hands.

Another challenge is....not exercising, but exercising consistently and pushing myself to the next level. I've tended to go in cycles of going hard, then doing nothing.

My fitness activity of choice is running. I never ran nor ever thought I could run until my late 20s. It helped me lose the baby weight from 3 pregnancies and is a kind of meditation/stress reliever for me.

My Goals:
My goal is to weigh 128-130 by July 1, 2014. I want to be fit to keep up with my active boys.
Other goals:
Hit the gym for strength training 2x per week.
Run or other cardio 3x per week.

My Program:
As of 5/18/14, I'm going back to Atkins. In the past, I was most successful with losing fat and gaining muscle on this program. On induction for the next 2 weeks then on to Ongoing Weight Loss Plan.

    Hi Buddy!
    I know, I know, it has been awhile. I have to laugh because we are so alike. I gained a little (okay 10lbs to be exact over the holidays) weight. I just refuse to be disciplined during the winter holidays. As you know with young children, it really is the best time of the year. But I see you are back on track and I am so proud and encouraged by you. I was at 140 my last weigh-in, my next is tomorrow (Sunday). I joined my state's team "Last SP member standing" competition to keep on track (I can be so competitive).

    Other than that, I know this is a VERY BUSY time of year for you. I was just thinking about you and wanted to let you know that I have not dropped the program.

    Hey friend! It has been a long time since I wrote you. I love this time of the year because it leads to the holidays. However, it is also a stressful and eat-indulgent time of the year. I have not been as faithful with logging in. I continue to exercise, but tracking calories is especially hard on the weekend. I have become so distracted with work and other things going on. I am so glad to hear from you and see your name in my friendfeed because you keep me motivated. I pray all is well with your family and that your baby is adjusting to kindergarten. Take good care of yourself and keep in touch!
