I chose my screen name when I looked in the mirror and could not believe it was me, down over 80 pounds after years as an overweight kid, teen, adult. I felt like a miracle! Now I just see me, a me that must keep tracking and working to control my weight so that small gains don't become a trend. Worth the work? Absolutely.

I was just thinking. If you are Oldmom, that would make me Ancientmom. Oh dear, and I keep forgetting I'm not 32 until I look in the mirror.

Thank you for the Thanksgiving goodie and the welcome to Maintainers.

I notice that we both are double tracking on WW and SP. I do better when I'm counting points, but the old nutrition teacher in me wants to know calories and nutrients, as well.

I also notice we both have grant-writing in our pasts. I did it for my school and a local botanic garden. I also read grants for the state of California -- when it actually had money for grants.

By the way, I also have one daughter and one granddaughter (preparing for college). Your little cutie has a most delightful smile and brought back wonderful memories of my girls at that age.

Thank you soo much for commenting on my Thanksgiving blog! You words were very encouraging, indeed!

I love the title of your Spark Page "This Time Forever!" I know and understand your pain of being up and down on the scale more times than I can count. However, this time I really do think it's different for me.

This time, I don't find myself say to myself "Well, after I get to my goal weight, I can start eating _____ again." I'm about 10 lbs away from my goal. And even with Thanksgiving, I allowed myself to eat whatever I wanted. As in years gone by, I thought I'd be watching myself like a hawk, not to eat too much, to stay with the prescribed healthy limits etc. That simply wasn't the case, and I didn't beat myself up either. I also don't feel like I've blown all my progress and can give myself license to go off my healthy eating habits and and hide from life in an unhealthy lifestyle. On the contrary, it was a day of celebration, and I allowed myself to enjoy all of my five senses! That's HUGE growth for me and success in and of itself!

Sorry for the long reply! I think I should probably post that in a blog!

    Much thanks my friend!
