My Goals:
My main goal is to fit in my old clothes. I'd like to be a size 4. I want to be healthy and fit. BMI between 18.5-24.9 (for my height that means 100-136 lbs) I'd like to get back into my old cheerleading shape but that is going to take a lot of work! So far I'm doing really well so I'll keep adjusting my goals as time goes on.

My Program:
I follow a loose translation of the Mediterranean/Sonoma Diet. The reason I like this particular lifestyle is that it goes along with my natural eating tendency= less meat, lots of fish, olive oil, fruits, vegetables, and red wine!

1. only drink water, coffee, green tea, and small glass of red wine

2. can only eat meat/chicken once per month

3. don't eat after 8 pm

4. no fried food, no buffets, no fast food

5. 9 hours of sleep per night

6. 1 hour minimum of exercise per day (combination of bike riding, jumping rope, dancing, swimming, walking, going to the gym, etc.)

7. daily multivitamin

8. don't go more than 3 hours without eating something small

9. Eat power foods daily-
* Almonds
* Bell peppers
* Blueberries
* Broccoli
* Grapes
* Olive oil
* Spinach
* Strawberries
* Tomatoes
* Whole grains

Personal Information:
I stopped weighing myself and lived in denial for years. When I stepped on the scale and saw that my short 5'2 frame was carrying 160 pounds, I burst into tears. I can't live this way anymore. Obesity, high blood pressure, depression, high cholesterol- all of it runs in my family.

Other Information:
I love the show "I Lost It"! It helps to motivate me. Also a fan of the Biggest Loser and Celebrity Fit Club. I love watching the transformations!

    Good morning Heather - Yeah, attention's good - young, my age, old!

    I've been thinking about what to do next, after meeting goal. I think I'll maintain thru New Year's, and then try to lose another 5 lbs. while trying to gain muscle and get body fat down to 20%. Also, I'm going to do better with my diet - to lose weight and actually before I was educated about my food choices, I ate some low-fat stuff which turned out to have questionable ingredients (i.e., transfats, high-fructose corn syrup, artificial sweeteners, etc.). So, I'm gonna try for 100% natural ingredients and maybe go organic.

    How old is your pug? He/she still looks like a puppy. Ours is 6-1/2 YO and is a black pug. So, he has started to turn grey and of course it's very noticeable. He's such a clown and so needy (in a good way!); but when he gets with other animals he thinks he's a put bull or something. He even tried to have a showdown with a rottweiler at the park! Crazy pug! We love him!

    Thanks for leaving a comment on my page - you made me laugh! Yeah, the attention from, let's say, the younger set is flattering, tho' my 18- and 20-YO sons aren't too happy about it!

    I read over your page and must commend you on deciding to get healthy at your age. Wish I had done that! Looked great in my teens and early 20's and totally took it for granted - till, like you, I stood at the scale one day and burst into tears. If disease runs in your family, all the better for you for paying attention to your health!

    You're off to a great start -- keep it up -- and you look great NOW.

    I am only 5' 2 1/2" (I always add that 1/2 in there!!!)

    Weight loss has been slow going for me. Even with watching my food and exercising, I am only losing about a pound a week.

    And I saw that you are in a Florida group... I use to live in FL before I moved to SF, CA for law school.
