It has been about 3 years since I first joined Sparkpeople. I had managed to lose a bit of weight, and learned a lot.

Now I have a daughter!!! Being pregnant meant I couldn't do a lot of physical things that I was used to doing and I hated that. I vowed not to take my body for granted again.

So I want to lose the pregnancy weight, and I want my strength and fitness back and improved! I want to set a good nutrition example for my daughter.

So far though, I have been extremely indulgent with myself because I'm worried about post-partum depression if I push myself too hard. So I'm going to start tracking, exercising, and hopefully finding a way to fit in strength training. I'm going to try to cut back on store bought snacks but see how far I get without doing much more than that.

Fortunately I was raised on good nutrition and I like things like vegetables and food cooked from scratch. I've just been getting lazy!

My Goals:
Basically I would like to lose weight. I was steady at around 145 for years and then my weight just started climbing. If I hit 142 I will definitely be pretty foxy but mostly I want to be able to maintain that weight as I get older.

My Program:
I had to up the suggested spark calories quite a bit to even have a chance of following the plan. I'm going to keep exercising, and I'm hoping that just by keeping track of what I eat, I'll make better choices. The day before I started I had eaten over 3000 calories so it should be pretty easy to improve on that.

I read your comment on supporting local farmers and could not agree more. Just look at whats happening in Russia. Major drought and fires have devastated the farmland. And now the country is shutting down grain exports. This will have an impact on our food prices, but imagine the impact without having other resources. To your health

Thanks for the blog comment! I guess I should focus on the fact that eating veggies cooked is better than not eating them at all...I have just always figured that if I could learn to like raw veggies it would be more convenient in terms of snacking. Oh well! Gotta do what works, right? Have a good rest of the week.

Hey thanks for the idea about adding only dark chocolate to the house! I have a product called Nutella around my house for the kids they can't live without it. I had some today as a Sunday treat but ate too much!! emoticon But only went over my goal weight 250 calories. That's not too bad!!! emoticon Tomorrow another day!!!
