My name is Barbara aka Nana Akua. I'm 27 years old and recently married to the most amazing man in the world. My goal for the year is to become active, have fun with exercise, and loose 80lbs. I have unsuccessfully tried to loose weight in the past, but I BELIEVE, that this will be the year i TRIUMPH. I have an amazing motivational and personal trainer(my husband) which will make all the difference. I'll do my best to blog and share my experience with you. Did I mention that I currently live in Tarkwa, western region of Ghana, West Africa.With a very limited amount of gyms and food choices..so this is going to be a real challenge, but I have tried for many years in the US, so maybe the change of enviroment will make all the difference.

My DONE statement
I'm DONE feeling inferior to "thin" girls
I'm DONE feeling hopeless
I'm DONE limiting myself on what I can do because of my weight
I'm DONE with being insecure, and undermining my interligence
I'm DONE with allowing negative people to crush my soul
I'am DONE with anxiety that something bad is going to happen..
I'am DONE with feeling guilt from the past...the past is exactly what it is, the past.
Now I AM living.
I will experience life in its true sense which is a combination of ingrediants full of flavor and excitement.
I will experience each moment.
I will live my life freely, without the fear of the unknown.
I will enjoy the symphony of life and dance.
Because I AM worth it.

Today I resett my program and decided to start over.
And remind myself daily of my dne statement :)

My Goals:
1st goal: get under 200lbs.
DONE-199.8(04/18/2011)
2nd goal:get under 190lbs.
10% Of starting weight=180lbs-take a swimming class.
02/26/11 9:50 pm:
exercise at least 3 times per week.


My Program:
03/14/2011--3/19/2011:
Walked for 30 mins
-8 cups of water each day.
-read a daily affirmation.
03/21/2011-03/26/2011:
Cardio twice a day for at least 30 mins.I'm using a combination of walking and exercise videos.DONE(did 30mins mornings/20mins evenings)
03/28/2011-04/02/2011: 40 mins taebo in the mornigs,30 mins sparkcardio.DONE,except for one day i took off during the week, also didnt do a morning workout on sat and sunday.
04/04/2011-04/09/2011:
Cardio twice a week
add some strength training.
daily affirmation
8cups of water.
04/11/2011-04/17/2011-Move everyday,cobination of taebo,walking,and 10 mins spark kickboxing.
