I have been overweight for majority of my life. In July 2009, I began my start to healthier living, but became pregnant ( for the fourth time) and everything went out the door (other words: I didn't stay motivated and consistent). I had my son in March 2010 and wanted to get back to my new lifestyle, but did not fully. In September 2010, I started back exercising, but continued to eat all the WRONG foods. I was bombed (but I didn 't get discouraged) about not losing the weight FAST. Healthy meals were and are a challenge for me because I dislike cooking and with four kids QUICK is easy. During the holidays 2010, I said bump it -- ate what I wanted to eat (all the wrong foods, again) and didn't exercise. I had my mind set: after the Holidays I'm going to get back at it.

So I'm back at it! On January 2, 2011 a friend introduced me to SparkPeople! And, I am loving it! This site is exactly what I needed at THIS point in my life. I was telling my friend I wanted to join Jenny Craig. The main reason for joining Jenny Craig was going to be for the weekly consultations and packaged food. But, I can get all that support HERE FOR FREE!

I am very hopeful that I take full advantage of the site and become a healthier person. One thing I realized (again!) is I will ALWAYS struggle with this journey and life change if I do not ask my God for the will, strength and power to change. So, now again I am praying on a daily basis for God to give me strength to do this -- eat healthy, overcome tempetations (mainly sweets!), excercise, drink my water and mainly STAY MOTIVATED AND CONSISTENT.

I hope to meet other individuals in my position and we can inspire each other!

Long term goals:

- be able to rock climb with my daughter
- be able to cross my legs (haven't been able to do this in years)
- be able to run again

Short term goals:

-exercise at least two times a week

-strength training at least once a week - mainly abs and lower body

-use gym membership

-consume three meals and three snacks daily

-drink at least eight
glasses of water daily

-reduce soda intake

-reduce suger intake

My Program:
Praying for strength to make a change and be consistent!

Visit frequently, weekly

trying to keep a food journal in my purse.

reviewing calories and serving sizes info

brainstorming meals and snacks in advance

practicing controlling my portions

reducing sugar intake...I have my weak days

drinking 8 to 20 glasses of water a day

Eating more fruits and veggies each day

drinking Orange juice for fruit servings

Slim fast meal bars for busy days

Lean Cuisines and Weight Watcher SmartOne meals

FiberOne bars for chocolate cravings! I love these!

Keeping kitchen free of the no-no foods

Various exercise DVD's (walking with Leslie Sansone) and stationary bike riding

SparkPeople exercise videos on YouTube!...I exercise right at home in my bedroom or living room when my kids are up and when they are asleep
