Hello! My name is Shayna and I live in beautiful San Diego, CA. I am a grad student studying psychology and decided that there is no better time than today to start to improve myself. I gained a bunch of weight in college (30 lbs on my 5'4'" frame) and have recently lost almost all of it, but as proud of myself as I am for that I still am craving something. Now, I am looking for a healthy, balanced life. That includes being lean and toned, putting good things in my body and treating myself with just as much love as I treat everyone else with.

I am currently going through that whole soul searching, figuring out who I am and what I want phase of life that everyone hits at some point. Exploring, trying new things, finally getting around to doing all the things that I have always said I would do (like run a marathon and learn to cook)!

I recently discovered yoga and LOVE it. I love all kinds... the really intense yoga that makes you sore and the really relaxing yoga that calms your mind and leaves you centered.

I love to try new things yet somehow never get around to making plans so I am forcing myself to make a bucket list and start crossing all that stuff off!!

    WE DID IT!!!!!!!! Congrats right back at ya!!! This experience was amazing and made even better by all my fellow sparks!! I am icing my knees (again) as I type.     I think that we might go to the Macaroni Grill after the expo. I would love to have you come with us!!! We will get tons of carbs in our system and have the fuel we need to get through all of those 13 miles!! Yay!!!!

    Thanks for the encouragement. I always feel wonderful and strong after my long runs and am thankful I have a body that is capable. Now, the owner just needs to drink plenty of fluids between now and Saturday night, eat healthy and substatially, get plenty of rest, and prepare ahead of time (charge camera, ipod, phone, watch) and pack things early so I won't be rushed. If I do all of those things, I will be good to go!!!

    I had a bad run yesterday so I am trying to get psyched back up and regain my confidence! It was only 3 miles and I didn't eat enough in the day because I got light headed and felt like I was going to throw up or pass out. It was terrible. I definately learned my lesson about eating enough to fuel my body (I didn't deliberately try to NOT eat, the day just got in my way!) so now I am only focusing on being positive and aware. Coffeerun supported me and made me feel betta. I love my sp friends!

    It is funny that you changed your name! It does help out with the confustion though! haha! I can't wait to meet you tomorrow!
