    Welcome to SP.

Motivation attaches to "triggers" or "hot buttons" and not knowing you, I would be shooting in the dark. Mine came in the form of health considerations. Yours may come in the form of family, health, vanity, or a combination of things.

With a diet, you should track everything you eat. Have a calorie range that you need to achieve each day and stay within the limits of that range. To help keep you there, find the thing you want to achieve and visualize the results. Lay it out on paper with an action plan to get there, wherever "there" happens to be. You must keep the goal in mind every day and you must know that by denying yourself that snack a few extra calories today, you may wreck your plan.

My motivation was to re-achieve fitness and lose weight. That's only do-able with a change in caloric intake along with exercise. Do exercise for fitness and stay within a set calorie range to lose weight.

    Good luck with your program!
